I guess I love something because of what it gives me, my being!
Held my own guitar yesterday and struck a few chords! :) And there was this sudden surge of feelings: happiness, bliss, excitement, relief from the humdrum and a sense of well being! :)
That's what music gives me and I guess that's why I love it. :)

kind of confusing how the selfish/unselfish thing is relevant in the context of a guitar (not to mention the spelling mistake in the quote!). i guess Rand said that purely in the context of sexual love......it won't even work for the love of a parent or sibling, let alone a guitar :) kher, atleast i'm not missing ur unique brand of reasoning :D

ReplyDeleteyup she framed her opinion in the setting of sexual love...but I have observed that this is generally true for me...which includes parental love too!!
and going by Rand's general philosophy I think she would mean it for all kinds of love!....for all kinds of emotion for that matter :P :P
